Michael Jackson, RIP

I am shocked and saddened to hear the news of Michael Jackson’s passing.  Michael worked with me in 1991 on an episode of my show entitled “Stark Raving Dad.”  Michael was a good sport who didn’t even want his name to appear in the credits.  He chose to be listed instead as “John Jay Smith.”

Michael was a role model for my son Bart, who often enjoyed listening to his music while trying to mimick his moves. In fact, Bart dropped Michael’s name into the lyrics of his song “Do The Bartman.”  Bart is understandably grief-stricken and has taken today’s news very difficultly.

As both a fan of his music, and as a friend, I would ask that people rememeber Michael as a wonderful performer who gifted our world with his intense talent.  The entire Simpson family wants the Jackson family to know we send our love, thoughts and prayers their way, and we ask both his fans and ours to respect their privacy during their time of grief.

The Simpson Family forever loves Michael Joseph Jackson. Rest in peace, buddy. I raise a Duff to you.

Sprinkled glazed would be the best

I’m sitting here at work in Sector 7G, really wishing I had a donut about now.

Mmm…donut…

Blog? What's a blog?

Dear friends,

I’ve stumbled across this magical world full of uninteresting people who have too much time on their hands, bitching and moaning about things that nobody really cares about and massing thousands of other people collectively who bitch and moan about those same things that nobody cares about.

Upon my discovery, I thought — me too!  So here it is, my blog.

My blog is on Tumblr for a few reasons:

  1. People had registered my name on other sites. Jerks!
  2. Looks clean and easy to use.
  3. Lisa told me to.

I can’t promise you I’ll be the most interesting person, the most entertaining or even the most interesting person.  Sure, we might share a laugh or two. We might cry. We may even get together after one too many Duffs in a night we both wish we could forget (I haven’t gotten a Christmas card from Waylon Smithers in about four years).  But I can promise you one thing:  I’ll be the most interesting and entertaining person you’ll read online!

Woo hoo!

-Homie J
